The River of Time (aka Why You Keep Spiraling Like a Sad, Confused Tornado)
Hold on to something 'cause this is a whole thing. We’re about to get weird and kind of magical but also deeply logical. Trust me, it works.
So this guy, Thomas Hübl, drops this metaphor that kinda smacks. He says life is like a river. It's flowing, moving forward, everything's groovy. And then trauma shows up like “SURPRISE!” and slaps a chunk of that river into deep freeze.
Boom. Ice patch. No more flow. You’re stuck. And guess what? That frozen chunk? That’s YOU. Not all of you, but a part that got left behind because something sucked, and your system was like, “Nope, not today.”
You’re Not Messed Up, You’re Just… on Pause
Let’s get this straight: if you keep feeling anxious for no reason, or if your solar plexus clutches like an invasive aunt at a scandal, you’re not broken. You’re frozen.
Your body’s holding on to a moment it couldn’t process, so now it’s just replaying it like an emotionally deranged DJ. Rewind, remix, repeat.
But instead of judging it or shoving it down with oat milk lattes and distraction scrolls, what if you listened?
Triggers Aren’t The Villain.. They’re the Map
You know that thing that keeps setting you off? That topic, that person, that feeling you wish would take a long walk off a short pier?
That’s not the issue. That’s the landmark. That’s the bright neon “Hey! There’s healing over HERE” moment.
But we treat it like a mosquito. Swat it, ignore it, whine about it. Meanwhile, it’s literally the portal.
Don’t “Fix” It. Melt It.
Here’s where it gets soft. But not boring soft, like marshmallow-on-a-hot-day soft. I know, that's a bit too much with the imagery.. But..
Healing isn’t a hustle. It’s not about grinding your soul like it’s trying to meet Q2 numbers. It’s about melting. You melt frozen stuff with warmth. Presence. Safety. The occasional ugly cry in a blanket spring roll.
You don’t chase it down. You notice it. You say, “Oh hey, there you are again,” and then you breathe.
There’s Not Just One Kind of Time (Because Obviously)
Hübl’s got this take that honestly slaps:
There's regular time. Like “I’m 34 and this is my third panic spiral of the week” time.
There’s timelessness, deep meditative, floaty, cosmic chill.
And then there's ancient time. AKA your ancestors, your DNA drama, and the entire human saga baked into your body.
And when you can feel all of that? It’s not chaos. It’s clarity.
Let’s Get Real
You don’t have to be perfectly “healed” to live your life. That’s a scam.
What you can do is get curious about the parts of you that freeze up. Let them thaw out. Give them room to join the party.
Because once that chunk melts? There’s no more “back to old patterns.” There’s just forward. Just flow. Just FREEDOM.
